I have been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2016 when I graduated from Mount Royal University.
My interest in massage sparked during my time working in an office. I noticed a lot of my coworkers would get headaches or tight muscles, all I wanted to do was help them feel better. I thought if they felt good physically, they would be more productive and have a better quality of life. After getting into the Massage Therapy program, I was positive this is the profession I was meant to be in. I found it very rewarding to be able to help people feel better.
After going through a complicated pregnancy, I developed an even stronger interest in prenatal massage, which I took additional training in a few years ago. I love that I can support new mamas on their journey during and after the baby arrives.
I enjoy continuing my education through various courses to learn new massage skills. I always try to customize the massage based on the clients needs. Everyone is so different, deep tissue might be the answer for one person, while cupping or hot stone treatment for the other.
When I am not working, I am still massaging my dog (they get tight muscles too!), my baby or I am looking into the next exciting massage modality course that could benefit my clients!
